Can Pak Lah save Shin Chung Chinese School in his constituency?

The Butterworth Session Court this morning heard the submissions of the plaintiff and defendant and would make a decision tomorrow on the fate of the Shin Chung Chinese primary school located at Permatang Sintok in Pak Lah’s Kepala Batas constituency.

We will know tomorrow whether the developer would be allowed to go ahead with the demolition of the local Chinese school to make way for a housing project.

Alternatively, the court may allow the school committee time to build a new school building nearby before the existing school building is demolished.

This is what hundred of villagers and the largest gathering of Penang MP and Assembly representatives at the Butterworth court are waiting for this morning.

What is interesting is that Pak Lah the Prime Minister who happens to be the MP, for the constituency where the school is located, has not yet visit the school.

This earned the wrath of a villager.

“Pak Lah was paying attention only to his ailing wife and his high-flying politician son-in-law, what about us and our school, isn’t he concerned too,” the 40 something constituent blasted.

With just barely 24 hours before the fate of the school is known, many expect a miracle from Pak Lah.

Tomorrow is a great test for Pak Lah’s commitment to Chinese education in the country.

Can he deliver tomorrow?
