Demolition order for Sin Chung School, a sad day for Malaysia

The Butterworth Sessions Court has this morning rejected the Sin Chung Chinese School’s application to seek non-enforcement of a court order to surrender the school property to the land owner and developer.

At the school, preparations are being made to vacate the students and move property before the developer’s bulldozers move in to demolish the school.

It is a sad day for Malaysia to see the saga of Sin Chung ending in this manner and this must serve as a lesson to all not to take things for granted.

It may be usual to blame someone for the fate suffered by Sin Chung School. Up till today, the developer has to bear the brunt of public opinion for their unrelenting pursuit of the land for a money-making mixed development project. (more…)
