Thanks to the heavy morning rain. The ceiling at the waiting lounge outside Parliament’s media room is leaking at two different spots.
Journalists covering Parliament session said they are afraid the ceiling would collapse.
This is not the first time the newly renovated Parliament House is plagued with some kind of problems. Two years back, a large quantity of water seep through the ceiling at the main chamber. The House had to be adjourned as the sound system went haywire and could not be used.
The government spent almost RM100 million to renovate Parliament and there are works that are below standard.
Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi was quoted by the Press that his throat was coarse because he had directed so many times about the importance of maintenance culture.
This is not good enough Mr PM. Get the government into action and make sure the whole process of awarding contracts and maintenance is transparent and corrupt free.
