Koh: Poll on next CM a negative, fruitless exercise
Georgetown: A recent public opinion poll seems to suggest that the majority of Penang people want their next chief minister to b from the DAP.
But Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon said the poll was an exercise in futility because it did not reflect the views of the people and should be ignored.
“It is nothing but a negative and fruitless exercise,” he said.
Koh was commenting on an online poll conducted by Penang Watch to get the public to say who was best suited to be Penang’s chief minister for the next five years.
Penang Watch is a non-government organization which actively monitors and comments on happenings on the island.
According to the statistics by Penang Watch, most islanders want a DAP representative to head the state government, State Gerakan secretary Datuk Dr Teng Hock Nan came second in the poll, followed by Koh, Gerakan secretary general Datuk Seri Chia Kwang Chye and state executive council member Teng Chang Yeow, respectively.
