Chow Kon Yeow: 曹观友

Fong Po Kuan was quoted in Malaysiakini that the errant BN MPs are neither sincere nor remorseful for their misbehaviour.

Wait till she reads about two news items in the websites of two leading Chinese dailies.

I am sure she will be infuriated as much as I do.

The first one in China Press. Jasin was pressed for comment by journalists while leaving Shahrizat’s office. He was asked whether he would apologise to Fong Po Kuan, he shot back his unbelievable reply, “I will apologise IF she is a woman!!!”

The second news item was posted by just half and hour ago on Sin Chew’s website.

It reported from Kota Kinabalu Airport that Bung Mokhtar (Kinabatangan) was given a grand welcome by 1500 supporters after returning from KL this evening. He was quoted to have said this to his supporters, “I apologized to all women BUT I did not apologise to the DAP”.

Po Kuan was right. Both of them have no sense of remorse at all.

And to be welcomed by 1500 as a hero, just make my day!

Parliament 15: 59.11

Malaysiakini reported this morning that the errant MPs have apologized over sexist remarks made in Parliament last Wednesday.

As expected they did not issue a personal apology to Batu Gajah MP Fong Po Kuan, against whom the sexist remarks were aimed at last week. For Po Kuan, it does not matters anymore whether the duo wants to apologise to her. The whole fiasco has surely made her wiser to the world around her.

Whatever justifications Jasin and Kinabatangan may used for making the crude sexist remarks cannot redeem their wrongdoings and arrogance.

What saddens me is Shahrizat. She said no other actions were necessary against the two MPS as they have suffered enough criticisms from everyone in the past week.

They have suffered enough? Oh my gosh! They must have enjoyed every seconds of it, the media attention and all that.

I think Po Kuan is more hurt by the way the Barisan Nasional government handled the whole fiasco. From the elegant silence of Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, to Najib and Nazri, then Shahrizat and the Gender Caucus, they were surely a big letdown.

We can forget all about gender equality and sensitivity. What matters most is how to make the BN look good. And you know which side they will take.

Sorry, Po Kuan.
