I did my tax clearance in Hong Kong earlier this year.

I had to 
1) open a tax file
2) get in my tax computation for them to verify I am not taxable
3) HK income tax department to issue a clearance letter for me.

How long it took?

In Malaysia, we need a month, at least, base on my experience with them.</description>
