Without innovations, our country will be ruined
The House was shocked today by a supplementary question by the MP for Temerloh, Dato Mohd Sarit bin Haji Yusoh.
The corporate figure said the country will be ruined (hancur) because we have not come out with any innovation.
“We have set up all the Innovation Council, we have all the hardware but we do not have the necessary software. We do not have the necessary brain to make innovation,” he moaned.
“I am worried for the country. If this goes on we will be ruined,” he added.
During the Q & A session, Mohd Sarit asked what the achievement in strengthening the National Innovation System is.
He was obviously unhappy with the bureaucratic answer from the parliamentary secretary of the Science, Technology and Innovations Ministry.
“When is Malaysia going to have innovations by a young person such as the YouTube which was sold to Google for billions?” the MP asked.
The world is flat. Malaysia needs to find a place on this flat world. To do that we need the brainpower.
