Penang under the leadrship of Gerakan is going no where. If it falls into the hand of UMNO, thing will be worse. Why not give DAP a try?

I think Lim Guan Eng in his speech has already mapped out the reality of the electorate in the state for the next election. Safe Permatang Pauh, all Malay dominated constituencies will almost for certain go to UMNO. The position of the non-Malay or multi-cultural component parties in the BN is most precarious. Some will fall to the opposition. UMNO will have the upper hand because the combined seats of the component parties will be fewer than UMNO in the next election. For sure, the next CM will not be a non-Malay. Unless, the Rakyat panics and throw all their votes for the opposition OR they could throw all their votes for the component parties. My gut feeling is that Penangites will be not be so brave as during the days of Lim Chong Eu. Those days are gone and they don’t have the numbers now. The BN are united and strong. The opposition are at odds with each other and are divided. No contest. The hegemony of the current government will continue.
